Featuring: Monster High Jane Boolittle

Jane Boolittle is a boo lotta shy. She can communicate with all animals, and is smashing gorgeous, too!
Ah, the Monster High box. My apologies if these images upload fuzzily. They were shot with a DSLR, but between the computer being physically incapable of uploading images to Blogger and having to transfer through Imgur and two iPad apps... I'm afraid they do lose a bit of their quality. Eventually I hope to find a remedy for this situation. Probably it will be a new computer. -.- Also, these are older photos I've been meaning to upload, whoops, so if the quality seems to be a digression from my latest post... That's because it is.

Jane is the adopted daughter of Doctor Boolittle and has a pet voodoo sloth named Needles, who is hecka cute.

So. Many. Plastic. Tags. Jane is probably the most complicatedly boxed doll I've opened as of late.
Now *that* is cute.
Hi Jane! I love the little paint dots beneath her eyes. The feather earrings are cute, too. Her full upper lip is unique to her and I love it. This is the only doll that purple eyebrows actually work on!
I LOVE the little crop top, although I've since traded her outfit with Frankie's.
I don't totally love this pink undershirt, but I donated it to another doll and it works, haha.
I'm not about to marry these shoes, either. Mostly becaus the color doesn't quite match any of the other blues in the outfit. The design is cool, though.

Hi Needles! His slothy arms are meant to hold on to Jane's shoulders for a slothy-back ride. ^^
Jane's staff is actually a marker. I keep thinking the now is upside down, but it actually has feathers out the top. Hello Kitty would be proud.
Heh, it's fun to play with.
Jane is a wonderful doll. I ship her with Heath (from my Home Ick set), hehe. Purple and yellow just go together! LSU... yeah. I'm not a big fan of her clothing, and like her accessories only selectively. I like her bracelets and earrings, but not necklace or shoulder... feathers... or shoes. Yeah.

Happy Easter!

Featuring: Skull Shores Ghoulia and Skulltimate Roller Maze Frankie Stein

Ok, so whenI started this blog I decided I would post dolls in their order of arrival... But then I got Sophina and I got excited and skipped directly to her without passing go or collecting my $200 (which I could really use because ugh my collection still has a Kyu shaped hole in it). Anyways, I figured since I've already discussed the generalities of Monster high on this blog that I could double up and post my two favorite ghouls today.
Skull Shores Ghoulia. Perfect makeup. Her hair is a royal pain in the butt, but so worth it.
SKRM Frankie. Cutest MH doll ever, bar none. I love the colors in her hair, I love the cut of her bangs (I joke you not, I just got essentially the same haircut, just shorter), I love her makeup and her electrifying lips! Mine came with spots missing, boo, but I really don't care.
Boring-but-mandatory image of what came in their boxes. Either I'm crazy or Frankie didn't come with a brush. Boo again. Not that I actually use he hairbrushes for anything- only metal brushes will do for these haunt couture ghouls- but I like the electric green color scheme that is going on.
One piece! She came in a one piece! I love one piece swimsuits for dolls. Two pieces are just lazy and cheap.
Continuing modestly along, Ghoulia has chosen a cover-up sarong of sorts with... guts? brains? Very zombie of her. Her drippy bracelet (which one cannot remove without first removing her hands) matches her gory-geous shoes:
To die twice for, no? I ought to have held them up to the light for this image. The shoes are translucent!
She really looks like am old Holywiod starlet. I love the glittery eyes, classic red (and very full!) lips, and I think her expression stays pretty true to her webisode self. I've seen people call her sculpt haughty, but it's really not at all! She's just squinting because she is blind without her glasses!
Found 'em, Ghoulie! They were on top of your head the whole time. You've also got some... brains... in your hair.
Ah. Much better. Back to where they belong.
Frankie is a speed demon, and I owe her another photoshoot, because it was too windy out to get many good shots of her skating.
I love the nuts design and the cute little skeleton head design on her knee pads, but I wish I wish with all my heart to fly with dragons... cough... I mean gah I wish this was made into a romper. Who the heck skates in a dress? If I ever happen upon a second iteration of this dress... Me and a needle and some thread will have a job.
Oh yeah, Emily, backlight the opaque shoes. That's real smart.
Her shoes have her lightning bolt decal featured not only on the heel (um, wouldn't these be kinda dangerous?), but on the sides of the shoes and on her helmet as well. The shoe uppers are a very squishy rubbery plastic, and gah these tiny shoes are tempting me to purchase SKRM Operetta. But I won't. Maybe.

Happy last 6.5 hours of spring break. T.T

Featuring: Jinafire

你们好, 我叫 Jinafire 龙 和是中国人,可是住在美国。
Rawr.
Today I'll be reviewing 1.5 Jinafire dolls from Monster High. Sort of. Basically (as I mentioned in the Swim, Girl post a while back, it was driving me batty to have two of the same doll, so I stripped my less favorite of the two and donated her clothes to the other. The doll I've photographed is the Scaris version, as Scaremester Jinafire has been returned to her original box for safekeeping until further notice. I'm not sure if I want to sell her off (low demand for a nude doll like that), or turn her into a project (but what other less articulated doll is in need of a gold body with a tail?). If you happen to be in desperate need of a nekked dragon, I just might be your chick. (I'll totally trade for a naked Rochelle Goyle if she has the long hair with no bangs.)

Edit: found these low-quality pre-box-opening pictures on my iPad when I was cleaning out the camera roll. She is really cute as a comic. ^^

So Amazon drops off the box one night (too late for any good natural light photos, and let's face it, you're too excited to play with your first MH doll to wait to do the unboxing), so you pop her out and this is what you get. Lots of fun doodads.

But wait, there's more, because you ordered two!

The detail on the shoes are incredible. Scaremester is worth it just for the shoes. I cannot believe they carved such detailed little  in the heels of a shoe. When I was in China, someone explained it to me as the male lion is the one with the ball and the female is the playful one... sorta. Actually they said the ball was there for a different reason, but imma keep this blog PG, k? In this case, the male is the one on the left shoe and duh, women are always right. Anyways, these shoes are the best thing I've seen come out of MH. I love them.

Quality? Overall these dolls are good playline quality. I swear this particular Jina body has a larger posterior than the other doll I own, because it is difficult to get her shirt on (and the unfinished edge in the back worries me I might cause damage), and pants are more difficult to fasten. It's a bit endearing to me, though. If you'll allow for a momentary trip down memory lane, allow me to state that man, I have had times in my life where my pants won't go past my calves. (And other times where I was being brung to outpatient clinic treatment at the hospital for being underweight.) Now my weight is average and haha I appreciate that my doll has for whatever reason a little extra rump.

All packed and ready to jet set (read: faceplant as soon as the wind picks up). Gotta hand it to MH. Forget the stands, these dolls can practically walk on their own.

Ugh, school drools.

Yes, I do have like a bazillion joints.

When we returned to my room, Jina couldn't help but show off her shoes to the new girl, who also has some pretty snazzy kicks. Heh, foreshadowing. Guess who my next MH guest will be!

And it wouldn't be a blog post without Yui. She's sporting some adorable Mary Janes from Dollb on Etsy. I love Dollb. Their customer relations are sublime, and they've always been more than willing to help me. I've got another pair of shoes and some socks from them, which Yui will show off as soon as her new outfit comes in the mail!

Happy weekend everybody!

Xoxo for now,
